Litters

The following Ruckerhill litters are planned for Fall and winter of 2011:

Brisk and Junior have had a successful courtship and this litter whelped on December 1st. Brisk is elegant, has all the right movement, angles, small flexible chest, and lovable attitude. She is a fantastic working dog as well as house pet. Junior is big, but extremely intelligent. Junior works sets as smart as any dog we have worked with, he understands the difference in game vs trouble (like skunk and porcupine). Junior has all kinds of hunt drive and yet in the evening will be the cuddle bug on the couch or in Andrew’s bed. The goal with this breeding is to get a terrier with the same excellent temperament, working intelligence, with a boxy head like Juniors while maintaining Brisk’s structure, movement, and flexibility. This will be Junior’s last litter. The picks have been taken (2 of the boys) – 2 reservations have been moved to later litters – Therefore, there are now 3 Girls and 1 Boy available for immediate placement starting this week. Please view the videos below to follow their development.

Fox Island Grit & Conquest Hanna

Grit is outgoing, friendly, and a sire of Champions in the show ring and hunt field. Hanna is energetic, affectionate -love to be with her people in the house, and loves to hunt. This couple mated the week of December 1st successfully whelped on the 1st of February. We are pleased to announce the arrival of 2 boys and 5 girls. these pups have already started their Bio sensor routines and they should be available about the second week of April. We intend to keep one Pup form this litter to improve our show & hunting lines. We presently have 3 reservations for this litter leaving only4 available. We will try to post video links weekly so you can watch as they develop.

Little Eden Swagger & Ruckerhill Gemma

Swagger is a perfect gentleman in the field as well as in the house. He loves people and is not an instigator with other dogs. he has nice angles that allow him to cover ground nicely and work those small ground hog holes well. Gemma is all lady; Lovable attitude, angles and chest from her mother, the awsome Little Eden Angel, have made her hard to beat in both the show ring and the hunt field. Gemma was scheduled to come in to heat the end of December or first of January – Typical Jack has decided not to pay attention to any schedule… We will post when her mating takes place…

Breeders Terms: Sometimes we will sell a pick of litter pup or potential conformation/hunt dog on breeders terms do to our limited size and because at 8 to 10 weeks of age it is very difficult to tell what the terrier will turn out to be at one year of age when the JRTCA will accept the terrier’s registration. This is not an inexpensive way to get a quality dog, but does provide a lot of experience in how we go about caring for and selecting dogs to improve our Jack Russell Terrier lines. The way it works; We sell the terrier with a co-ownership contract at a reduced rate to you (similar to the price of a pet pup) except you are expected to keep the dog intact and register it with the JRTCA at 1 year of age. We get to pick it’s mate at the 2nd or 3rd heat cycle, you provide the vet care,  testing, transportation to the stud dog, etc… you or we will help whelp the litter and we get the pick pup at 8 to 10 weeks of age. you keep the rest of the litter to run on or sell. We then sign the dog over fully to you. This is a opportunity for you to get a potentially high quality dog and a great deal of experience with some of the best Jack Russell Terrier blood lines in North America.
